Tips for Making an Adult Dating Video

adult dating video tipsIf you have thought about making an adult dating video, here are our tips for you. Are you looking for someone to have some fun with? Maybe you want to chat online or consider an adult hookup? If you want to have the best chances of meeting the right person to have some fun with, a strong adult dating video will help you out.

Many of the top online dating sites offer the opportunity to post a video to your profile as another way to introduce yourself to potential matches.  Your online dating video will help people get to know you on a different level than just looking at your pics or reading your profile. They can hear your voice, see your mannerisms and getting a better feel for who you really are. They can also be a lot of fun to make.

While many online dating sites have the option to make videos, some of the most common mistakes happen with adult dating sites. Just because it’s an adult site doesn’t mean you get to make a porno, or that you should. You want your video to be seductive but you also want to leave them wanting more and thus, wanting to contact you.

A great video can draw attention to your video, tell people more about who you are and of course, what you’re looking for in a date or a hook-up.

The best part is that you can set up and record the video in any way that you want to make your video stand out from all the other videos.  If you’re new to making videos, then you might feel intimidated by the process but there are some simple tips to help you along the way. The following are tips for making an online dating video.

Use Proper Lighting in Videos

Having proper lighting in your adult video will make all the difference in the world.  Light from a single bulb is usually very harsh, and you will not look your best.  So here are our lighting tips. Try to light yourself with at least three lights, of equal strength, and at equal distances from you, give or take a foot.  100 watt tungsten bulbs are best, with semi transparent white shades. If you have one 100 watt, and one 50 watt, the 50 watt will look yellower, so try to keep them matched, or close, if possible.  Higher wattage light bulbs give a whiter / bluer light, while lower wattage bulbs light look yellower. The camera is more sensitive to this than your eye. Our eyes automatically remove the coloring and try to make all light sources look natural. But the ability of cameras to do this is limited.

Setup your video camera on a tripod, or on a bookshelf, and make sure the background is lit up as well, and is attractive.  Keep lines in the background straight and even if possible. If the background is not attractive, you can hang a white or light colored bedsheet 4-5 feet behind you. You can also use a sheet to filter light coming through a open window, for a soft, sexy look. Otherwise, you can also bounce light off of a white bedsheet, or the ceiling.  Try to avoid shadows on your face. One suggested lighting setup is one light on your right, about 4-5 feet away, at 45 degrees to your side, and slightly above your eyes (it will highlight your hair slightly).  This light will light the right side of your body or face, as well as part of the front.  The second light will be a slight amount to the left of the camera, just behind it, and also 4-6 feet away.   The third light will be 30-50 degrees to your left, again 4-6 feet away.  If you have more lights, use them, mainly to reduce shadows and even out the lighting.

Audio. For good audio, close off the door to the kitchen, close widows, turn down music.  The microphone on the camera likely will be very sensitive. Practice speaking in a natural but well audible voice.  Adjust your voice as you practice so that it sounds attractive and sexy if you wish. If the sound quality is not what you would like, or there are echoes or noise in the background, attach an external, wired microphone, and clip it to you, or have it 2-3 feet away or closer when you record. Have fun, and watch out for shadows!

Slide Shows are Great

If you are uncomfortable in front of a video camera or you do not like to record your voice, you can always make a slide show video with a favorite song playing over the top.  If you just prefer not to have to look at a video camera while you are recording your voice, you can also use a slide show but instead of music, you can narrate the slide show to explain what you are doing in the photos.  You can use a slideshow to highlight your interests and hobbies by taking photographs of you doing what you like to do while explaining where you are or what the hobby is. It’s not a replacement for an actual video but it can still be more interactive than still photos.

Skip the Script

Whatever you do, never use a script to read what you want to say about yourself.  It’s going to come off cheesy and rehearsed. Plus, if you’re looking down at your script while recording, you’re not going to be connecting with your viewer. You want to look into the camera as if you are talking directly to the person watching.

So while you might write down your thoughts to help you remember what you want to say, you don’t want to actually read from it in the video. Instead, have an outline of the important points you want to make that you can refer to while speaking naturally.

No Nudity

Why would you give them all the goods for free? Sure, it’s an adult dating site but you may want to hold off on the nudity, at least in your intro video. For many people who use these sites, the excitement is in the chase. You want to find people you are interested in and spend some time chatting, seducing and working your way up to an encounter (whether online or offline).

When you are completely nude in your video, you don’t really give the person as much reason to want to talk to you. Also, on some sites (even adult dating sites), full nudity is against the rules in your dating videos. Once you chat privately on Web cam, you can do what you want.

What to Wear

What you choose to wear could have a big part in the impact of the video. If the video is going on an adult site, you might opt for a sultry or seductive outfit in your video but don’t overdo it. You want to give them reason to continue to talk to you and see more.

With an adult dating profile video, you might decide to have some fun with it and do a themed video where you are wearing a fun outfit or role-playing costume. If you’re into that sort of thing and want a match who is as well, then adding it to your video is a great way to show just what you want upfront.

Be Yourself

Some people get nervous making their video and this can lead to you over-promoting yourself. So make sure you are comfortable and that you be yourself. The truth will come out in the long run anyway so why try to oversell or act some way that you are not?

Avoid Messy or Busy Backgrounds

If the area where you plan on taking your video is overly messy or cluttered with decoration you may want to choose another area.  Maybe you’re not getting contacts because your dating video paints a portrait of you as a slob. Is that yesterday’s underwear on the floor in the background? Clean up before you do your video to send the best first impression.

Do Not Put Your Children in the Video

It may seem like we shouldn’t have to say this one but you would be surprised. There’s nothing wrong with having children but they don’t belong in your adult dating video. Make sure you have a private, uninterrupted area to do your video. Make it when they are not home or lock the door for privacy but whatever you do, make sure your kids are not in your video.

Conclusion

Making a adult video profile is not always easy for some people because they do not like to be on camera and may not like the way they look.  Even if this is an issue for you, there is still the choice of using video on your profile.  If you follow the above tips you will have something that clearly represents you, who you are and what you like to do.
